Sunset In The Valley

After spending some 13 hrs trekking steep trails we are worn out and back for some much needed rest before another big day tomorrow.

I find the hardest part about photographing Yosemite National Park is deciding what to photograph, your in one area that looks amazing taking a series of images and you know there are so many other locations within the park you want to be at the very same time.

Tonight this area below was my choice. Sunset in the valley tonight was simply other worldly. Difficult with so much dynamic range but here is a sample pic of a series to be processed and stitched at a later date.

Why the 2 other photographers that were in the area did not bother to snap one pic after setting up and spending so much time standing behind their cameras I do not know, was the light not good enough for them?

    Hi Neal,
Great shot, cannot wait for the stitch.
You will be super fit at that rate, especially with all the gear.

    Cheers Tom

  2. You’re in Ansel Adams country. Making up history as you go along…. sorry, bit of Terminator2 lingo there 🙂

Looks fantastic, I can see what you mean about deciding on compositions – seems like there are shots everywhere you point your camera! Will be great to see the finished shots.
