Beach Reflections

Taken on a recent trip to Western Australia’s South West Region. While the light was not great this evening the dark clouds provided a good back drop to the white sand and large rocks on the beach. Just had to watch out for the Blue Jellies littering the beach.

I used a reverse grad 4 stop for the sky and took 2 shots for this image. One for the foreground exposure and one for the sky which I under exposed. I then merge the 2 images manually rubbing out what I did not want from the other. It took a number of tries to capture the wave in mid curl.

I love the foreground but unfortunately the sky is far to bland for me…

Great photo, really like the foreground – the texture in the sand and the shapes and colours of the rocks
