Mount Buffalo Victoria

Recently I spent 8 days traveling the countryside of Victoria from the Alpine region of Mount Buffalo, Bright and Mount Beauty through the Otway National Park and down on through the Great Ocean Road. I was joined in the Alpine region of Victoria for 3 days by Mr Tom Putt, Tony Middleton, Christian Fletcher, Mark Stothard and my fellow travelers from Karijini Clint Baker aka Suzie and Phil Back ….

Below is an image taken one morning at the top of Mount Buffalo with the hand-glider ramp to the right, must be an awesome feeling hand-gliding off the top of Mount Buffalo. The fog and cloud shrouded peaks and valleys of the area looked amazing at dawn. I shot this location a couple of times with Clint and Phil to try and capture both the dawn and dusk feel of the place. This particular morning I felt the scene defined a Black & White Panorama Image.

Stunning vista and image Neal – I love the soft flowing feel of the ‘fog blanket’ and the light and processing on the rocks/mountain face. If anything I find the structure in the bottom right a bit distracting and the image may be better without it ?
It was great to finally meet you and I’m stoked you had a good time in vic.

  3. Cheers Tony I was not sure about the hand glider ramp or not, in the end I kinda liked it … I loved the fog layer adds so much feeling to the capture. Was cool finally meeting yourself, we’ll have to do it again for sure, and SOON …

Cheers Clint, was a pretty nice morning up there, wish it was closer so we could head up there more often … I’ll be checking your blog out this evening, so get those images up bud …

Yeah definitely mate ! It would have looked extra insane then if Clint and Philbo were launching hang gliders off it ! πŸ™‚

I also find the ramp a little bit distracting, but still a nice photo never the less. The fog layer almost looks like water.

Hi Neal, love the scene but with the other blokes on the pad…..if only there was a hangglider lanching it would have made for an unbelieveable image and tied the pad in.
