Lucky Bay Beach Esperance

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to do a flying 3 day visit to Esperance with a few fellow photographers, Flemming Bo Jensen, Antony Spencer and Christian Fletcher. Here is another shot from one of the best beaches in the area Lucky Bay Beach, Esperance. With miles of white sandy beaches and clear water I was looking to try and find a spot that I could photograph a different view of this breathtaking beach. What helped a lot was the amazing sunset we where treated to that evening …

My new website is coming soon, I finished redoing all the images for the site earlier this week, now I am just waiting on my tech team to attach the new layout to the database I have completed updated and it should be a go … I was hoping for this week, but that looks shot, so fingers crossed next week …

Today I have been playing with some files from a shoot last week with the 50mm Zeiss f/2 lens Β … WOW!!!

  1. Love it Neal!!! And what a great new website..This really looks pro my friend. Congrats on the great work.

  2. Medium format clarity in this one Neal, this has a nice balanced look with the motion in the clouds and the water. This is the first night right, at Lucky Bay? I forget the names of all those beaches and bays we went to πŸ™‚

Wicked new font you’re using man πŸ™‚

    • Cheers Flemming … Worked hard that evening in the hot humid conditions, yep that was the first night and I should of called it Lucky Bay but messed up … Working towards getting bette clarity with my images … Not always an easy task … Wait till you see my next post with the Zeiss Lens, your going to want one … The clarity is gorgeous … I’ll post next week … No MacBook Pro yet, been told another week 😦

      • I hope that Macbook hurries up, we leave for Kimberley the morning of Sat 12th !

I would love those Zeiss lenses, but they’re darn costly. Would you like my to give yours a good road test in the Kimberleys for two weeks? hehehe πŸ™‚

        • Yeah I hope so to … if not we’ll have to do it when you get back … They said when I ordered it it would be this week, then this week they said next week …

For sure, you just need to get me a bed on that boat πŸ™‚

  3. a beauty Neal, yep we were sweating alright!

Neal – that is a cracking shot mate – sensational work.

I particularly like the swirl in the foreground – for me it’s what makes the image.

    • Thanks Tim … Yes it adds a little depth to the image. I had shot this earlier in the day maybe a hour or so and was not happy with it, it just seemed flat … We must of spent a good few hours scoring this beach looking for that spot for sunset. After tracking up and down the beach for a few hours we got together at the a midway point shared some snacks and drinks and then we all headed odd again in directions for sunset …

Christian and I headed up to the far side of the beach and Antony and Flemming stayed closer to the midpoint …

The sunset did get better than this, but of late I am liking the colors of sunset moments before it peaks rather than the peak of color …
