Just received notification that one of my images from a recent trip to Tasmania has received a Silver Award. I entered 3 images last minute and it looks like only 1 at this stage has been judged, so fingers crossed the other 2 images fair well … I guess you never know what the judges look for and in my case I have used the last 2 or 3 comps to gauge if I am taking that could be considered in competitions …
I tried to enter not my best or favorite images but my most recent work to also gauge where I am … Although in saying that I did pull an older image from 12 months ago just re-tweeked a little … we’ll see how they fair I guess …
I entered all 3 images into the “Open Section” of the competition. I am not a professional, but I want to take as good an image as a professional so i thought why not enter the most competitive section …
A little info about the competition and awards can be found here : http://www.internationalapertureawards.com

Well done mate!!!!…. wonder when the Landscape 500 will be judged …
Cheers Clint … I am not sure I have not logged into the site to see if some of the image have been judged or not …
Congrats Neal, nice achievement.
Thanks Thomas
Omg CONGRATS!
Thanks Charlene
Yippeeee…You’re the man 🙂
Cheers Patrick … Never entered a comp till this year when I enter 3 … Not sure comps are for me but I guess I had to try it out to see what the experience was like … Photography for me is not a competition but more a way of bringing what some may not see at either locations or the time of the day.
Well done, that’s a couple of cool images. May I ask where they were printed?
Thanks Matt … At this stage I have not has this image printed … But I usually go to CFL labs for the fujiflex prints …
